07 · Accountability

No one is beyond accountability.

Not the powerful.

Not the wealthy.

Not the untouchable.

When power is abused and serious wrongdoing is proven, influence must offer no protection.

Behind closed doors

Every decision has someone behind it.

Behind the institutions, the fortunes and the influence are people who make decisions.

And people can be held accountable.

03

The moment of reckoning

The time to put things right is now.

Where wrongdoing can be corrected, genuine reform and restitution must be demanded.

But a refusal to change cannot mean freedom from consequences.

Where the law requires prosecution, correction does not replace it.

04

The eviction

Eviction.

When power is abused, power can be taken away.

Removal from office. Loss of privileges. Disqualification. Lawful sanctions. Prosecution where warranted.

And for an organisation that will not change: total restructuring, or total closure — proportionate to the harm it has caused to people’s wellbeing.

No fortune can purchase immunity.

05

The new standard

A different future requires a different standard.

The same law.

The same accountability.

For everyone.

The standard does not begin at the new dawn. Harm caused before it is traced and answered, and harm caused after it is answered in the same way.

Everyone should live a good life.

SocialJustice.org.uk — Preparing the UK for Systemic Change.

Eviction here means the lawful removal of positions, privileges, control or authority, and, where an organisation cannot be reformed, its total restructuring or total closure — following due process and proportionate to the harm caused to people’s wellbeing. It does not mean removing anyone from their home or expelling anyone from Britain. The standard reaches harm caused before the new dawn as well as after it. Nothing on this page alleges misconduct by any named person, family or institution: wealth, inheritance and ownership alone never establish wrongdoing. Findings rest on evidence tested by independent bodies, courts and regulators, and consequences must be lawful and proportionate. SocialJustice.org.uk is a campaign platform and does not investigate, prosecute or remove anyone from power.

The public commitment

We explain proposals without hiding uncertainty, disclose the status of tests and approvals, correct errors, welcome serious criticism, and distinguish what is intended from what has actually been achieved.

Facts are dated and sourced. Projections are not guarantees. All unimplemented actions are described as proposals or intentions.
