We are not planning to fail. This is a revolution of evidence and nerve: patient enough to prove itself, impatient enough to say the country cannot wait another decade for it.
The direction of travel is set: interest abolished in stages, GDP retired as the test of whether the country is working, NATO and the G7 left through their own treaty processes. Each step costed, published and tested before the next one is begun.

A new national index, built in the open, replaces output as the test of whether the country is working.

Independent scrutiny of every step, with a published route to stop a step that fails its own test.
No stage begins until the one before it has been tested.

The year it is tested
By then, every claim on this site has to be standing in public with its evidence attached, in front of a country free to reject it. What that year holds has not been announced. When it comes, you will already know exactly what is being asked of you.
2029
The year the answer arrives
Either the case holds and the first measure leaves paper, or it does not and it waits. Nothing is pushed through on enthusiasm. Nothing is called inevitable. The answer is earned in the two years before it.
Nothing is decided yet. That is exactly why it matters.
We will not tell you these years will be calm. We will tell you exactly what is being asked before they arrive, so that when they do, nobody can say they were not warned.
05 / The first job
The first job is a new index.
Already underway. Public in 2027.
The question underneath everything
Do you know what this country uses to decide if it is doing well?
GDP.
One number. One direction: up.
It counts what is bought and sold.
It never counts what is lost.
A hospital treating illness adds to it.
The illness never subtracts.
A car crash adds to it.
The grief never does.
A prison adds to it.

So the country is told it is thriving while the people inside it are not.
